Live and Unfashionable is collection of songs recorded both live in concert and in the studio. It features Superunloader classics like Commercial Dissection Section, cover tunes Ain't Got You and Mongo, and some never released instrumentals like Popcycle, and the tribute to Mahavishu Orchestra titled Rehavishnu.

The songs were all recorded with the Superunloader Mobile recording unit to ADAT. The tapes were then taken to Golden Track studios where Ben Moore mixed them to 1/4" analog tape. The mixes were then mastered on Sonic Solutions by Steve Weatherbee.
